Founded in 1997 as a place of quiet retreat on Iona for pilgrims of all faiths. Hill of the Dove is a small house up a rough track on a hillside overlooking the Sound of Iona. There is an Oratory where the Blessed Sacrament is reserved, and which is open to all for quiet prayer and meditation. By maintaining a Eucharist Centre and reserved accommodation for visiting priests, Hill of the Dove ensures that there is daily Mass or Communion on Iona throughout the year, and collaborates with the Iona Community to offer these services at St. Michael’s Chapel in the Abbey on Sundays from Easter to October.
