Lendrick Lodge is one of those places where the veil grows thin, where barriers come down and the power of spirit is palpable. Whatever your beliefs, you are welcome here: there is no specific religious tradition but respect for all and a strong commitment to love and acceptance. Stephen and Vicky Mulhearn, Lendrick Lodge focuses strongly on empowering individuals through the traditional tools and rituals of shamanism. Through programmes such as Giant Steps and The Spirit of Shamanism, there are opportunities to experience Sweat Lodges, Journeying, and Fire walking. Indeed Lendrick Lodge is now home to the world-renowned Sundoor International Fire walking School, under the guidance of Peggy Dylan. Whether you are inspired to “walk the path” of the shaman, or simply to relax in the magnificent surroundings of lodge, you will be assured of comfortable accommodation – and very good vegetarian food. There is a beautiful meditation room, a light and spacious sitting room and a conference room where the real work is done. The grounds, set amidst the mountains and lochs of The Trossachs, are peaceful: trees and a meandering stream offer places to be alone and to reflect, whilst other areas have been set aside for the Sweat Lodge and Fire walking ceremonies. There is a strong sense of continuity and spiritual heritage here: once the gathering place of Druids from all over Celtic Britain, it is fitting that Lendrick Lodge should once again be offering ancient ceremonial initiations preserved by indigenous cultures throughout the world. For those who are interested in training in shamanism practices, there is two- to five- year training. Modules can be taken individually as a one-off or as part of the Shamanism Practitioner training programme. Check website for more details. |
