Anglican
Pretty Burford, with its stone houses, antique shops, tourists and air of new money and material success, is also the home of Burford Prior, a small Community of Anglican Benedictine monks and nuns. They have a special concern for the fulfillment of Christ's prayer that all may be one. The Community seeks to offer a place of reconciliated and prayerful encounter. It enjoys a vitality and is growing in the number of both men and women who want to try the contemplative life here. The guesthouse is a late 16th century house in its own gardens within the Priory grounds. The bedrooms are well equipped and there is an oratory. Not so easy to get to by public transportation but once there, you will find a proper warm Benedictine welcome and an atmosphere in which you may prayer, study and reflect.
