Buddhist Meditation Retreat Centre for Men

Buddhist - Friends of the Western Buddhist Order (FWBO) Tradition
Vajraloka is the longest established meditation centre of the Friends of the Western Buddhist Order (FOB). It is a Buddhist centre with retreats open to both men and women who have attended a basic meditation course by FOB (See London section for The London Buddhist Centre). The centre's purpose is to provide facilities for the practice of meditation and there are retreats suitable for those who have been practising meditation for at least two months, retreats for experienced mediators, visualisation retreats, and special retreats for those with particular levels of experience. The programme brochure, issued annually, is detailed and interest and shows the depth and variety of the retreats and courses on offer. The Centre is set in the beautiful countryside of North Wales and it is a very peaceful place. There is a facility for solitary retreats. Only guests who have attended FWBO meditation classes in public centres are accepted. Men from other Buddhist traditions may be received for short retreats of one week if they have about six months experience of Samatha meditation - mindfulness of Breathing/ Metta.
