They are not hotels and the monks and nuns are inspired by values of simplicity, silence and seclusions. While you will be expected to respect their way of life, your personal religious beliefs will not normally pose any problem. Such places would not normally expect to accommodate unmarried couples in the same room. Charges are usually modest and much below rates in Britain or Ireland.
